I saw some discussion on an internet forum concerning the translations in the English magazine. Can you tell me about the way you translate articles?
-Jennifer Kelley, Cal., U.S.A-

Actually, none of the articles for the magazine are directly translated from the versions that appear in the Chinese magazine, Puerh Teapot. We also saw some criticism based on a comparison of the two. However, the English magazine’s articles are translated from the authors’ original compositions—the same sources that were edited down for the Chinese version. With regards to the tea reviews, most authors usually write about a page for each tea. This is then edited down and summarized by the Chinese editors for the Chinese magazine. For the English version, the original page(s) is translated and newly edited, so the two will invariably show some differences based on editing decisions. Furthermore, almost all the authors in the English magazine are chosen because they have at least basic English skills, so we can show them the translations and make alterations based on their comments.
